Billy Ray Cyrus to make Broadway debut in ‘Chicago’
Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is going to Broadway. The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and father of Miley Cyrus is set to make his Broadway debut in the Prohibition-era musical, “Chicago.” Cyrus, 50, will play the role of criminal lawyer Billy Flynn for a seven-week engagement beginning Nov. 5. Cyrus has acted in TV movies on Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel, and most notably starred alongside his daughter in the hit TV series, “Hannah Montana.”
Other celebrities set to accompany Cyrus on the Broadway stage include Sofia Vergara, Melanie Griffith, Brooke Shields, Ashlee Simpson, Usher, Huey Lewis, Michael C. Hall and Jerry Springer.
