Bieber faces copyright lawsuit
Virginia songwriters, Devin Copeland and Mareio Overton, are suing Justin Bieber and Usher for $10 million for copyright infringement. According to the VA songwriters, Bieber’s song “Somebody to Love” contains many lyrical and stylistic similarities to the original song produced in 2008 with the same title.
The duo filed a lawsuit on Tuesday in federal court in Norfolk, VA. The lawsuit says that Copeland and Overton provided their song to musical promoters who in turn gave it to Usher.
