Amy Winehouse documentary in the running

The director of the award-winning film, “Senna” will be making a documentary about Amy Winehouse. According to Focus Features International, the film will incorporate unseen footage in order to describe the life of the musician who died at age 27 from alcohol poisoning.

The Winehouse family reacted positively to director Asif Kapadia’s vision for the film because he chose to represent Winehouse in a sensitive manner without sensationalizing her death.

The acclaimed 2010 film, “Senna” focuses on the life of Brazilian F1 driver Ayrton Senna, a champion racer who was killed in an accident in 1994.
