American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is healthy enough to start summer tour on time

An “American Idol” tour representative announced Monday that this year’s winner of the singing competition, Phillip Phillips, will be attending all of the tour dates.

Phillips, who endured eight surgeries over the season for a condition that affected his right kidney, was in pain for much of the competition. But fans of the Georgia star don’t have to worry because Phillips will be present in the cross-country tour that kicks off on July 6 in Detroit and ends Sept. 11 in Milwaukee.
