Andy Rooney, 92, will exit “60 Minutes” on Sunday after his 1,097th broadcast. Rooney has been a regular contributor to the program since 1978. CBS producer Jeff Fager called Rooney’s contributions “immeasurable,” highlighting the television personality’s ability to speak his mind.

Rooney has contributed extensively to both the show and the network during his career. Aside from “60 Minutes” segments, he also worked as a writer for “Arthur Godfrey’s Talent Scouts,” “The Garry Moore Show,” “The Twentieth Century” and “Calendar.” Rooney first began delivering his words in 1971 with “An Essay on War.”
