The Washington Capitals will take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Nationals Park at noon on New Year’s Day. The event will be the seventh annual match-up, each year between different teams. The Blackhawks have won 13 of their past 16 games, including the last they played on Monday against the Nashville Predators. The Capitals lost their last, against the New York Islanders, making that their fourth loss in the past nine games. The Blackhawks lead the Central Division, and the Capitals are running fourth in the Metropolitan.
