Striking Verizon workers return to work, still no deal

Despite a lingering contract dispute, thousands of Verizon workers will return to work Monday night after being on strike since Aug. 7. Health care benefits, pensions and work rules are still on the line as Verizon and the union have agreed to negotiate a new contract.

Verizon has expressed interest in cutting landline costs as more and more Americans switch to mobile phones. The workers on strike hope that the 14 days away from work show the seriousness of the situation.
