Google adds posts from social network to search results

Today, Google plans to take a major step toward incorporating social networking posts into its search engine results. The company decided that their internet users want to find photos and conversations posted by their family and friends on the web.  The new feature has been dubbed Search Plus Your World.

A Google associate who oversees search, Amit Singhal said, “What you search today is largely written by people you don’t know; we call that the faceless web. Search Plus Your World transforms search and centers it around you.” People will have the ability to see photos and posts from family and friends, profiles of when they searched names, and conversations occurring on Google+ related to topics they search. This new feature can be turned off to view only standard search results if desired.  For users who are signed into Google accounts, their searches will be concealed.
