DC minimum wage to be increased

Mayor of D.C., Vincent Gray, is set to sign the tiered increase in the city’s minimum wage. Within the next several months, workers in the area who are currently earning the minimum wage will see a bit of an increase in their wages.

The current minimum wage in D.C. is $8.25. On July 1, 2014 the measure will be raised to $9.50 an hour. On July 1, 2015 it will be raised to $10.50 and on the same date in 2016, it will be raised to $11.50.
