Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Tuesday that the commonwealth will receive a $2.6 million one-year federal grant to improve and create statewide health care models. The grant was awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The funds are to be used for financial and technical support as the state works towards public health goals, including those related to tobacco use and mental health care. The grant will come into use in January to assist the new Virginia Health Innovation Plan.
