Christopher Haynes escaped from police custody at George Washington University Hospital on Sept. 6 following his arrest on suspicion of killing 33-year-old Brent Hayward on Aug. 12. Haynes has been on the run for a little over a week and there have been no key updates surrounding him since. Authorities have increased the reward amount for any information regarding his escape to $30,000.
Haynes complained of ankle pain and was taken to the hospital where he escaped by physically assaulting a police officer as the officer was attempting to handcuff him to a gurney. The police have not been able to confirm whether or not Haynes was armed. Haynes is described as being 6 feet tall with shoulder-length dreadlocks with a Washington Nationals tattoo on his neck.
