Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin vetoed 48 bills Friday during a legislative session. Along those bills, included legislation that aimed to protect access to contraceptives in Virginia. The legislation was advanced by Democrats who control the state’s legislature.
Youngkin said, “Let me be crystal clear, I support access to contraception. However, we cannot trample on the religious freedoms of Virginians. And that is the issue the recommendations I sent back to the General Assembly addressed.”
