VIRGINIA NEWS – Fairfax County native accused of attacking the mother of his 13-day-old child

A man from Fairfax County Virginia was arrested in Florida after the authorities say he attacked the mother of his only 13-day-old child and left the child in the snow.  20-year-old Darvin Flores Caballeros  was allegedly arrested on Thursday morning in Santa Rosa Beach Florida. He was accused of assaulting and strangling the victim during an incident on February 12th. During the incident, Caballeros was accused of fleeing the scene after dropping the baby in a pile of snow and fleeing before the officers arrived. 

The baby was found by a stranger and police have stated that the mother was hospitalized with serious injuries. He was later arrested by deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office while leaving an apartment in Santa Rosa Beach at 11 AM. The authorities made a felony stop after confirming that Caballeros was in the vehicle. He is currently being extradited to Virginia and is set to face several charges including malicious wounding, strangulation, and two counts of child endangerment.
