U.S. and Cuba to reopen embassies

0

On Wednesday, the United States and Cuba plan to officially renew their diplomatic relations after more than fifty years. The countries will reopen embassies in the capital cities of each nation. This is the fruition of President Obama’s olive branch in December, when the U.S. decreased travel restrictions to Cuba and opened economic trade. The president met with Raul Castro in April and in June the U.S. removed Cuba from its list of state sponsors of terror. The American embassy in Havana will like return to the building where the embassy was prior to the Cuban Revolution.
