At least four Russian missiles have crash-landed as they flew over Iran. The cruise missiles were launched from a ship and believed to have been aimed at targets in Syria. Based on intelligence reports, the United States believes that some buildings were damaged and civilians may have been hurt. The current locations of the missiles is uncertain. The news of the crash comes just a day after a Russian fighter plane’s close encounter with manned U.S. fighter jets and a recent incident of another Russian fighter jet’s alleged tailing of a U.S. drone.
