POLITICS NEWS – Biden considered preemptive pardons for those fearing Trump’s revenge

President Biden and his senior aides are rumored to be creating a list of individuals to preemptively pardon out of concern for how the incoming Trump administration might retaliate against them.

Although no one has been officially named, many speculate that figures such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, Liz Cheney, and Senator-elect Adam Schiff are top candidates. Some “Never Trump” Republicans have voiced their support for these preemptive pardons.

While many past presidents have issued preemptive pardons, none have done so specifically out of fear of how an incoming administration might treat dissenters. This is yet another unusual aspect of the current transition between administrations.
