The suspected ringleader of the series of bloody attacks on Paris has been identified as Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a man in his late 20s. Abaaoud is believed to be close to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and is likely the link between senior ISIS leadership and ISIS operatives in Europe, European counterterrorism officials state. A French ISIS recruit arrested in August told interrogators that Abaaoud was one of the ISIS operatives who gave instructions about attacking a French concert hall, likely the popular Bataclan in which many were taken hostage on Friday. The recruit also told interrogators about planning for future attacks.
