Sigismond Segbefia, a 29-year-old Maryland inhabitant, pleaded guilty to online dating scams that conned others out of almost $1 million. Segbefia, who is also guilty of scamming $375,000 from a South Korean steel company for fake tickets to a Pharrell Williams concenrt, ran the scams from 2013 until his arrest from a trip to Ghana. Segbefia, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft on Wednesday, will be sentenced on April 12 and then deported.
