Hypothermia alert issued in D.C.

A hypothermia alert was issued on 7 p.m. Sunday by the D.C. Department of Homeland Security. Such an alert is activated when the temperature or wind chill is 32 degrees or below. Officials say temperatures could dip as low as 31 degrees overnight. Temperatures throughout the week will be very cold, with the high temperature on Monday estimated at the low-to-mid-40s.
