The East Coast prepares for floods and intense rain after news of Hurricane Joaquin reaching the Bahamas. The former Category 4 storm blacked-out three islands in the Caribbean country, even destroying 85% of the homes on Crooked Island. Many residents are without service due to the destruction of cell towers in the wake of the storm. A container ship holding 33 passengers, including 28 Americans, has been reported missing after sending a distress signal to the U.S. Coast Guard. The hurricane will not make landfall in the United States, but will affect areas from New York to Kentucky.
