 Cabernet Franc

It’s time to introduce the Wine of the month! This November we will feature Cabernet Franc 2014 from the PGI Thracian Valley Region!

Parent of the more famous Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc is sometimes forgotten and left behind. But believe us when we say that this elegant wine from 2014 will leave quite the impression.

Wine that will appeal to those who appreciate nuance, charm and fragrance over power and huge tannins this Cabernet Franc is filled with aromas of fine fruits with dominating black forest berries, backed up with red paprika and grilled green peppers, signature flavors for this varietal. It has beautiful ruby red color and silky structure. Last but not least this flavorful Cab Franc has soft tannins and long smooth finish. Like we said a wine to remember.

Pairing Tips

Cabernet Franc made in such elegant style might be a great wine to sip before dinner but it’s an extraordinary companion during it. For all the meat lovers: combine it with roasted lamb chops, duck breasts bathed in light red sauce, garlic-rosemary pork tenderloins or game meats with herbs.

If you would like to skip the full on meat dishes – simple grilled vegetables, pasta with tomato sauce or even pizza are a killer paired with this Cabernet Franc.

And if you are thinking “It is November – Thanksgiving is coming up what wine should I chose?” don’t worry – Cab Franc is a deliciously peppery wine that just screams Thanksgiving. It pairs extremely well with any of the flavors from the feast:  from mouthwatering turkey, to stuffing, to candied yams. With its easy sipping abilities it makes it a perfect choice for the wide arrange of food that is served at any thanksgiving feast.

Try to give this wine a slight chill before drinking and serve around 57 – 60°F (14 – 16°C). You won’t be disappointed. This fruit forward Cab Franc is designed to be consumed young so do not waste any time: open – drink – enjoy!
