A Maryland Episcopal bishop was sentenced on October 27 to seven years in prison for hitting a cyclist on December 27. Heather Cook had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22 percent and was allegedly texting while driving before she hit Tom Palermo, giving the latter severe head trauma that later caused his death. “I am so sorry for the pain and agony I have caused,” Cook said. “This is my fault and I accept complete responsibility.”
