No. 5 Maryland Terps eliminated in South Region by top-seeded Kansas

A 79-63 loss at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks cuts Maryland’s Terps’ run to a NCAA championship. Kansas forward Perry Ellis, who matched a season high 27 points, led the Jayhawks to victory in a game that was back and fourth. Kansas ran away with it after picking up the tempo in the second half, giving them an eventual 16-point lead. “They just tell me to be more aggressive, and that’s what I try to do,” said Ellis. Kansas faces Villanova on Saturday in an elite 8 showdown, while Maryland will have to wait until next year to make a title run.

Cruz has words for Trump: “Leave Heidi the hell alone”

On a factory tour in Dane, Wisconsin, Ted Cruz attacked Donald Trump for insulting his wife Heidi. “Donald, you’re a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone,” Cruz told reporters after the tour. When Cruz was asked repeatedly if he would still support Trump in November as the Republican nominee, Cruz said “I’m going to beat Donald for the nomination.” Cruz added, “Donald Trump will not be the nominee.” Trump targeted Heidi with a tweet on Tuesday saying, “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!” The tweet came after a Facebook advertisement targeting Mormons showed Trump’s wife, Melania, posing nude. Cruz’s campaign reportedly is not connected to the ad.
