4 men charged in the rape of a 9-year old girl

Four men have been charged for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl in Utah, while the girl’s mother was smoking meth. The incident occurred on March 27 in Unitah County, the sheriff’s office identified the men as 36-year-old Larson RonDeau, 20-year-old Josiah RonDeau, 29-year-old Jerry Flatlip and 26-year-old Randall Flatlip. The men took the girl to another room while the girl’s mother was smoking meth in the garage, that’s when the men assaulted the girl. According to deputies the girl mentioned to her mother what happened to her two days later, the woman reported it to the police. All four men have been arrested and are waiting for trial. State child welfare officials have taken custody of the girl.

Roads to be shut down for two weeks for “Jeopardy” filming

Alex Trebek, the host of the trivia game “Jeopardy” will be filming in Washington, D.C. from April 3-14. The filming will take place at the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Constitution Hall. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, there’s a list of roads that will be closed around the White House for periods of time for the filming. Featured contestants include CNN anchorman Anderson Cooper, actor and comedian Louis C.K. and Senator Al Franken (D-Minnesota).

Glen Bernie man gets 40 years prison for violent assault and robbery

A violent assault and robbery that took place last year in Glen Bernie, MD has a man sentenced to 40 years in prison. Twenty-five-year-old Timothy Stevenson was sentenced on Monday by an Ann Arundel Circuit Court judge. Stevenson received 25 years for first degree assault and 15 years for robbery. According to prosecutors, Stevenson assaulted a man in July at the Moose Lodge, knocking the man to the ground, kicking and punching him in the face, before robbing him. The man spent months in the hospital recovering from life-threatening injuries.

Erik Bauersfeld, the voice actor of ‘Star Wars’ Adm. Ackbar, dies at 93

Erik Bauersfeld, the voice of ‘Star Wars” Adm. Ackbar, died on Sunday at the age of 93. Bauersfeld was featured in “Return of the Jedi” in 1983 and again in 2015 in “The Force Awakens.” His character, the supreme commander of the Rebel Alliance, led major combat operations against the Galactic Empire. He was best known for the one-liner, “It’s a trap.” Bauersfeld died of natural causes at his home in Berkley, California. “Erik will be deeply missed by his family here at Coolwaters and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,” said Derek Maki, spokesman for Coolwaters Production.

UConn wins 4th consecutive NCAA Championship

No. 1 UConn pummeled No. 4 Syracuse in the NCAA women’s basketball championship at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Huskies entered the championship game 38-0, defeating Syracuse 82-51. Head coach Geno Auriemma, is now 11-0 in championship games. The 11 championships surpasses UCLA men’s coach John Wooden, giving Auriemma the most college basketball titles of all time. What those 11 national championships mean to me is how many great players I’ve had the opportunity to coach, how many great people have come through our program,” Auriemma said. “It doesn’t matter whose name I’m above, whose name I’m under, whose name I’m next to. As long as I have those names of those players in my memory, I’m good.”

Cruz and Sanders come out victorious in Wisconsin

Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders did exactly what they needed to do before falling behind in the presidential race. Cruz’s victory over Trump gives a strong possibility of a contested GOP convention. Sanders gave Clinton and her supporters a reason to believe that this race is not over. Cruz’s 15 percent point victory over Trump and Sanders 13 point win over Clinton was much needed as next weeks primaries shift to New York.
