The husband of 91-year-old German journalist Viola Drath, who died last week in her Georgetown home, has been charged with her murder after an autopsy revealed that she did not die of natural causes. Drath, a columnist for the Washington Post and Georgetown socialite, was killed through blunt trauma to the head as well as strangling.

Drath’s husband, Albrecht Gero Muth, 47, is being held without bail for second-degree murder. According to authorities, Muth presented to her relatives a forged document stating that he was entitled to $150,000 upon her death.
