D.C. to weigh bid for 2024 Summer Games

Washington D.C. was among some 30 other U.S. cities who received official letters from the Olympic Committee asking about possible interest in hosting the 2024 Summer Games. The letters urged cities to consider bidding for the games, but also warned of the extraordinary undertaking hosting can be for a city. Mayor Vincent Gray said he would have to carefully weigh the impact and opportunity before making a bid. As they did in the 1990’s, D.C. would probably team up with Baltimore, MD in making a bid.
