POLITICS – Republicans plan to block any Obama Supreme Court nomination

Senate Republicans have begun to rally behind the vow of majority leader, Mitch McConnell, to block any Supreme Court nomination by President Obama to replace recently deceased Justice Antonin Scalia. The Supreme Court opening has given Obama a substantial opportunity to reshape the Supreme Court before the end of his term. However, to do so, the President will have to find a way to compromise with or break the will of the primarily Republican Senate. Top White House officials are currently discussing ways to counter the Republican blockade.
