Maryland – State trooper injured in head-on collision

A Maryland state trooper was injured Thursday morning when his patrol car crashed head-on with a pickup truck in Dorchester County, Maryland State Police said. According to the agency, the crash occurred on Route 392 in East New Market. Master Trooper Clinton Weems, 49, was driving west when a pickup track traveling east crossed the center line and hit the patrol car. Police say Weems was removed from his car and flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. He remains in serious condition. According to investigators, the driver of the pickup truck was 19-year-old Tristen Blake. He and a passenger, 41-year-old Jesus Sanchez, were treated for their injuries on the scene. Police say the crash is currently under investigation.
