Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are calling it quits. According to Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields, Holmes filed for divorce on Thursday. The pair got married in 2006 and have a 6-year-old daughter named Suri together. Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe said Friday that “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” Cruise has two other children from a previous marriage with actress Nicole Kidman. The 49-year-old “Mission: Impossible” actor was also married to Mimi Rogers. Holmes, 33, kicked off her career in the popular 1990s show “Dawson’s Creek” and has since been in films like “Batman Begins” and “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.” The actress appeared to have filed anonymously, a method of divorce filing legal in New York. Cruise’s representative, Amanda Lundberg, told The Associated Press that “Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children” and asked to “please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
