Warner Brothers announced on Monday that director Michelle MacLaren, (best known for her work on “Breaking Bad,” ”The Walking Dead,” and “Game of Thrones”) has dropped out of directing Wonder Woman due to creative differences. MacLaren was to have made her feature directorial debut with Wonder Woman, and the first woman to helm a major comic book adaptation in recent years. Patty Jenkins was initially set to direct “Thor: The Dark World,” but also decided to withdraw because of creative differences. Israeli actress and fashion model Gal Gadot is set to star in the movie as the titular character, who will be introduced to audiences first in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which premieres on March 25, 2015. No further details have been released on whether or not MacLaren’s departure will impact the 2017 release.
