Paul McCartney may file lawsuit following phone hacking

Famous Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is considering filing a lawsuit against the British paper Trinity Mirror over allegations that a journalist for the paper hacked McCartney’s ex-wife, Heather Mills’ mobile phone. Piers Morgan, a former employee of the paper and former editor of the tabloid section is not the target of the investigation though he did hear at least one of Mills’ messages.

In an interview by the Daily Mail, Morgan admitted that he had been played a tape of a voice mail left by McCartney following a fight between the super star and Mills, stating that the message was “heartbreaking.” Said Morgan, “[McCartney] sounded lonely, miserable and desperate and even sang `We Can Work It Out’ into the answerphone.” McCartney intends to contact police about the claim.
