Although originally scheduled to debut in 2012 during the presidential election, Earth, Wind, Fire will be releasing their first album in eight years. “Now, Then, and Forever” is scheduled to be released on Sept. 10th.

“We have a lot more bells and whistles in place now and the record is better,” singer Philip Bailey said. The band also called co-founding member Larry Dunn to help with the sound of the album.

Bailey noted that the album goes back to the drawing board, but it doesn’t depart from the original sound of Earth, Wind, and Fire. The band has been working on the album for two years. Their new single, “My Promise”, was released on Monday.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are currently on tour. Those who pre-order the album will have their name printed on the album packaging.
