Stephen Colbert’s portrait will be returned to the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian to mark the end of his nine-year production of “The Colbert Report.” Colbert will be moving to CBS to host the “Late Show” when David Letterman leaves in May. The portrait first hung in the gallery when, in 2008, Colbert began campaigning on his show to get it there. He donated his own portrait, and it was displayed between two bathrooms. A new portrait, created for the final season of the show, will be hung in the same place, between two bathrooms and above a water fountain, displayed through April 19.
