A counseling session for two brothers at Word of Life Christian Church in New Hartford, New York resulted in the death of 19-year-old Lucas Leonard and serious injuries to his 17-year-old brother Christopher after both were beaten severely to confess to sins. Their parents, Bruce T. Leonard, 65, and Deborah R. Leonard, 59, each face one count of first-degree manslaughter and are held on a $100,000 bail. Four other church members have been charged with second-degree assault.
