Pope Francis arrives in Washington

On Tuesday, Pope Francis arrived at Andrews Air Force Base to become the first pope to address Congress and celebrate a canonization Mass in the United States. The pope was met at the base by President Barack Obama and his family, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, and other dignitaries. Pope Francis arrived at the Nunciature, or the Vatican Embassy, to more cheers. Twenty-five thousand people are expected to  attend his Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Northeast.
