In attempt to tighten its grip over the country, the Thai military has banned over 150 prominent figures from leaving the country. In addition to the ban, threats of arrest have been made to any politicians that disobey the military’s orders. A military coup led by General Prayuth Chan-Ocha, head of the Thai military, has disregarded the current Thai constitution and additionally has created a curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Also, all state-run satellite and cable providers have been ordered to do away with all television channels but one—the Thai army’s television channel.
