The Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced on Wednesday that two of its top officials are leaving their posts. The announcement comes months after the breast cancer advocacy group came under fire of its decision to cut funding from Planned Parenthood projects in February; a decision in which the group later reversed.

CEO Nancy G. Brinker will step down from her post after her successor is found and move to a new position, according to a statement by the foundation. The statement said Brinker will take on the role as chair of the Komen Board Executive Committee, and focus on revenue creation, strategy, and global growth. The statement added that President Elizabeth Thompson will leave the organization completely in September. “Thompson said the time is right for her to pursue other opportunities,” the statement said. Brinker told the Wall Street Journal that February’s controversial move had nothing to do with the leadership changes. “I apologized to everyone,” Brink said. “I think we all made mistakes and we addressed them and we’re through that and we’re moving on.”
