A woman assailant attacked a pregnant woman with a Tiki torch and stabbed the man who tried to protect the victim in the process.
According to Takoma police the female attacker caught a taxi to a home in the 8300 block of Flower Avenue, broke into the house and hit the seven-month pregnant woman in the stomach. The man, who lives in the home, tried to protect her before he was stabbed.
Police say the assailant fled in a cab heading towards Sligo Creek Parkway.
The man was taken to the hospital where he had to undergo surgery. He is expected to be OK.
The victim’s names have not yet been released.
