New ‘X-Men’ film earns $111 million in 4 days

Over Memorial Day weekend, the latest installment in the X-Men series, “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” earned $111 million in 4 days. The debut currently ranks 5th all-time for Memorial Day weekend openings; the top four domestic grossing Memorial Day weekend releases include the 2006 release of “X-Men: The Last Stand.” The X-Men movie franchise, which boasts a whopping 6 installments, is set to release yet another addition film during Memorial Day weekend 2016, with “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
