Sold for $185,000 at Julien’s Auctions as a part of a two day auction of Hollywood memorabilia on Friday and Saturday, were a pair of earrings Marilyn Monroe wore to a 1955 Hollywood film premiere. The actress wore the jewelry when she attended the opening of “The Rose Tattoo” although she did not appear in the film, which was based on a Tennessee Williams play. The price of the earrings included a 20 percent commission for the auction house and the buyer was a foreign collector. The auction was held at Julien’s Beverly Hills gallery. Along with a lighter used by Humphrey Bogart that sold for $19,200 was a 1986 Pontiac Firebird owned by David Hasselhoff sold for $152,600.
